The water operator partnership between HAMBURG WASSER and Netze BW Wasser and the Tanzanian operators KASHWASA and KUWASA started in Februaray 2022 and the MoU between all partners was signed in March 2022. The project termination date was initially set to be May 2023, but two extensions took place until June 2024.
The current report describes key project characteristics, progress made under the GIZ pilot phase, outcomes in each of the working packages and the evolution of the partnership strength.
The main working packages addressed by partners were:
- Improvement of Water Supply Network Performance incl. reduction of Non-Revenue Water (NRW)
- Water Production (only in KASHWASA)
- Geographical Information System (GIS)
- Management Support and Strategic Planning
